Drell-Yan tails beyond the Standard Model

We investigate the high-$p_T$ tails of $pp\to \ell \nu$ and $pp \to \ell$ Drell-Yan processes as probes New Physics in semileptonic interactions with an arbitrary flavor structure. For this purpose, we provide a general decomposition $2\to2$ scattering amplitudes terms form-factors that match to specific scenarios, such Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT), including all relevant operators up dimension-$8$, well ultraviolet scenarios giving rise tree-level exchange new bosonic mediators masses at TeV scale. By using latest LHC run-II data monolepton ($e\nu$, $\mu\nu$, $\tau\nu$) dilepton ($ee$, $\mu\mu$, $\tau\tau$, $e\mu$, $e\tau$, $\mu\tau$) production channels, derive constraints on SMEFT Wilson coefficients for four-fermion dipole most structure, possible leptoquark models. SMEFT, discuss range validity EFT description, relevance $\mathcal{O}(1/\Lambda^2)$ $\mathcal{O}(1/\Lambda^4)$ truncations, impact $d=8$ effects different quark-flavor alignments. Finally, highlight, extract several combined limits from processes, electroweak pole measurements low-energy $b\to c\tau\nu$ transition, showing complementarity between these observables.
